How do NATO members confront contemporary security threats? Join YPFP for the 2019 edition of the North Atlantic Council (NAC) Simulation. Participants will engage in a fast-paced scenario, as they represent NATO Member States to discuss a developing security challenge.

In this year’s scenario, participants, acting on behalf of NATO members, will tackle a crisis situation when a plane crashes following a high-level discussion between Ambassadors to NATO and international heads of states. How will the NAC address the loss of Ambassadors on foreign territory?

The 2019 NAC Simulation will be chaired by Jan Havranek, Policy Advisor in the Policy Planning Division at NATO. This event will give you the chance to get a first glance at the dynamics which govern the strongest political/military alliance the world has ever seen.

By the end of the event, participants will have exercised their skills in responding to crises and collaborating with others in a challenging environment. The key to a successful North Atlantic Alliance is based in the ability of the NAC to effectively address global threats as they arise. Member States are required to balance their national security priorities, that might differ significantly from one country to another, with the need to develop a collective, effective response. Brace yourself for a one-of-a-kind simulation exercise, kindly supported by the North Atlantic Alliance itself.

The event will be followed by a light reception.
