The unprecedented consequences caused by COVID-19 will undoubtably impact the European defence sector as well. The need for defence mechanisms during the lockdown may have been lowered, leaving concern for the ability of the EU to regain its strength to ensure the promotion of the common interests of its citizens, as well as its principles and values in the post-COVID global scene. However, traditional threats have not disappeared so the defence should not be neglected in the future.
This would be a great opportunity to join EDA Chief Executive Jiří Šedivý, and discuss with him the EU defence cooperation after COVID-19 as well as to get first-class academic analysis with regards to future of the EU defence from Prof. Dr Sven Biscop, Director of Europe in the World Programme at the Egmont – Royal Institute for International Relations in Brussels.
