The COVID-19 pandemic has triggered the worst economic crisis since the Great Depression. In the first months of the crisis, the shock to the labor market has been severe. At the same time, an unprecedented number of workers have shifted to working from home, while the “Class of Corona” — this year’s graduates — are leaving schools and universities with poor chances of finding employment or work experience.

And despite the labor market and social policy responses taken by governments around the globe to shield households and businesses from the economic fallout, uncertainty about future labor market developments is large as the risk of new outbreaks still looms.

• What are OECD countries doing to sustain individuals, households and companies, and what policies are working best?

• How is the crisis impacting low-income workers, minorities, youth, the self-employed, and women?

• How can labor market policies support a strong recovery and help minimize permanent scars?

• What can businesses do to help rebuild a dynamic labor market?

• How can skills be boosted, and how can vocational education and training facilitate school-to-work transitions?

Join OECD experts and YPFP leadership, as they discuss the fallout from COVID-19, with a special focus on current labor market outcomes of young graduates from mid-level education and training (VET), as well as how they have changed in the past 10 to 15 years and what can be expected in the medium-term.
