In light of growing tensions worldwide, at the Madrid Summit, Allies reshaped NATO’s three core tasks of Deterrence and Defence, Crisis Prevention and Management and Cooperative Security by adopting a new Strategic Concept. The Strategic Concept reaffirms NATO’s values and purpose, and provides a collective assessment of the global security environment. It also drives NATO’s strategic adaptation and guides its future political and military development.

Now, after one year of the Strategic Concept being in place and after the conclusion of the Vilnius Summit, we aim to investigate how this strategic document is shaping NATO's approach to tackle challenges in different regions, and how the security landscape might evolve over this decade.

This event will adopt a unique format, combining both a panel discussion and an interactive discussion group activity. The event will start with a brief panel discussion, comprising security experts from NATO. Then, participants will be invited to join smaller discussion groups, creating an informal environment where they can have their questions addressed and freely exchange their thoughts and insights.

The event will be followed by a networking reception.

If you have any questions, please contact Louis Bout, Security & Defence Officer, YPFP Brussels at louis.bout@ypfp.org.
