YPFP would like to invite you to the first of our Young Leaders Series event, “Opportunities and challenges for youth and young professionals in times of COVID-19” which will be held on Thursday, 24 September at 17:00-18:30 Brussels Time (CET).

Currently, more young people and professionals are struggling with employment challenges. They are facing lower salaries; poor traineeship schemes and we are at the helm of risking another lost generation.

By joining us you will be able to find out more concrete answers directly from young leaders, representing some of the largest political organisations in Europe.

If you get involved you will be able to gain a greater understanding of how the European institutions are addressing the following questions:

  • How are European recent graduates, apprentices, job entrants and young professionals directly and indirectly affected by the Covid-19 crisis?

  • Do European national governments´ and EU institutions´ crisis response policies address the European youth? Are the plans and programs proposed by the European Commission sufficient to address youth unemployment as a response to the crisis?

  • How can the European Parliament ensure that sufficient funds will be allocated within the next EU budget 2021-2027 to support and boost the youth employment across the countries of the European Union?

Speakers:

Ms. Lidia Pereira, Member of European Parliament, EPP Group, President of the Youth of the European People's Party (YEPP)

Ludovic Voet, Confederal Secretary at the European Trade Union Confederation

Moderator

Radu Danu, Programmes Officer, Young Professionals in Foreign Policy
