Join our next Security Talks discussion group on 'The weaponization of migration: the Achilles' heel of Europe's geopolitical security?' on Monday 6 December at 19:00 CET.

Through this discussion we want to explore how the EU is cornered as a geopolitical union through the existing divisions among member states with regards to migration.

We will investigate what the security implications of these internal divisions are, and therefore the ability of external nations to exploit them. We will mainly look at whether these risks originate from migration or Europe’s division and inability to provide a united response to large migrant flows. As examples, we will discuss (not exclusively) the ongoing migrant crisis in Belarus and Turkey, and the pressure they place on the front-line states.
