Peace Boat is one of Japan’s most innovative NGOs. The organization organises around-the-world voyages, and in its almost 40 years of operation, participants have visited more than 200 ports in 80 countries. Peace Boat also offers a unique programme of activities centered on experiential learning and intercultural communication. All of these activities advocate peace, human rights, and sustainability; in particular, the promotion of the SDGs is key for Peace Boat. YPFP Tokyo and Peace Boat are collaborating on an event that celebrates this unique organization. The panel will detail the history of Peace Boat and its activities, discuss the voyage experience and Peace Boat’s education programs, and highlight Peace Boat Disaster Relief, especially its work for the people of Ukraine.
