In 2032, NATO faces a fractured reality as the United States, focused on the Indo-Pacific and increasingly skeptical of its European commitments, has all but officially left NATO’s security umbrella. With the U.S. absent, Europe must defend itself amid rising Russian aggression, growing instability in North Africa, and the encroaching influence of China. At the same time, the U.S. and China are engaged in a global competition, with China leveraging economic power through its Belt and Road Initiative, particularly in Africa and Eastern Europe. This shifting global dynamic plays out against flashpoints in Europe and Africa, where European powers are forced to adapt militarily, diplomatically, economically, and informationally. Players will assume roles across NATO members, Russia, US, and China and across the DIME spectrum—Diplomatic, Information, Military, and Economic—to navigate these crises and manage the escalating tensions, all while contending with the wider effects of U.S.-China competition.
