Join us on Wednesday 14 May at Quaker House for an in-depth discussion on the powerful, yet often overlooked, link between food security and conflict dynamics.
In crisis settings, fair and sustained access to basic resources like food and water can reduce tensions and promote stability. But when these resources are scarce, weaponised, or distributed unequally, they can exacerbate grievances and fuel violence.
This event, organised in partnership with the Quaker Council for European Affairs (QCEA), will feature a panel of experts followed by small-group discussions exploring:
The weaponisation of hunger
The politics of food aid
How food security policies can support conflict prevention and peacebuilding
We’ll wrap up the evening with a networking reception and refreshments.
Priority will be given to YPFP members. If you are not a member, you will be put on the waitlist. We will contact you in case there is availability.
